There does seem to be a strong correlation between the perceptual sensitivity of a person and the level of pain, challenges or suffering we’ve endured, but I think your observation is right on that “damage” isn’t always vital for good art. It’s just more likely that creativity and personal expression will emerge in the wake of curiosity aroused by pain. I loved your response; thank you for it. Hope you and Mia are doing wonderfully.
